Handling Risky Business is a 501c3 non profit organization that serves the South Florida market with a focus on delivering programs and services to low-to-moderate income communities.
Our mission is to provide direction and empower youth and families with an emphasis on enhancing financial, entrepreneurial, social, and educational skills supporting lmi communities in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach County.
Our vision is to make a 360-degree investment in youth and family's life portfolios.
Community Impact Statement-100% of the people we aim to serve are low to moderate-income. This is determined based on the information gathered from FDOE, Title 1 Schools, Free and Reduced lunch programs, pell grant assistance, government assistance/foster care, income information gathered from our clients.
We have two signature 6 week programs that are provided under two pillars-HRB 360 Boss Up & Girl Bee You Empowerment Workshops.

We can all empower the next generation by encouraging them to focus on the importance of an education and cultivating moral values in them at a young age. By instilling core values in our at-promise youth we can anticipate these children will become productive members of society by gaining the necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences to be successful in some type of trade or profession. Chess
Club
Making Moves
HRB is bringing the life benefits of chess to our kids with our Chess Club. The mechanics and strategy behind the game of chess are a key component to helping our youth develop a new mindset and approach. Chess can be applied to a number of life skills that will help our participants to make more informed decisions in life.
- Chess will help our kids become disciplined and focus.
- Chess will help improve our participants self worth.
- Chess will help promote a thinking before acting skills.
- Chess will help develop stronger cognitive skills.
- Chess can improve memory, concentration, decision making skills and much more.
* Duration is 2 hours per week for a total of 12 weeks, this includes coaching and practice
* Lecture, chess boards and projector used for teaching
* Homework and personal practice using latest Chess software
* Using software, children can play against each other and solve chess puzzles
* Coach and volunteers actively monitor statistics on development of each participant
* Approximately 20:1 student to teacher ratio
* End of semester in-house tournament with trophies/medals
* Making Moves Chess T-shirt for the school team ( extra cost)
Investment Club
HRB is bringing the Investment club to our youth by teaching financial education including investing 101. We will have teacher-guided and student-led activities that are targeted to introduce to some and reinforce to others the benefits of financial education. Workshops are conducted on a weekly basis for one hour. Participants will learn life lessons that are a key part of everyone’s goal and that is to be fiancially successful. Our participants will also have the opportunity to be introduced to online activities, and peer-led activites that emphasize the importance of financial education and investing for their future.
Leadership Club
HRB understands the importance of leaders in our communities and we want our youth to understand that importance as well. Not only is our leadership club going to help educated our youth on community leaders, we are also molding them to be great leaders themselves. Stay tuned for more updates.

HRB wants our youth to become familiar with STEM and basic life skills such as sewing, cooking, gardening, carpentry and much more. This club will be an added tool to what is missing in our schools at this time.
